On this site, five different buildings have housed local government since 1691, including York Hall.
In 1955, York Hall was constructed as a larger representation of the 1733 courthouse of the Siege of Yorktown.
Now, York Hall is an official meeting place for the York County boards and commissions.
Along with other sites in the area, York Hall holds historical significance and stands as one of the notable sites along Main Street.
