Celebrate the role watermen have played in American history at the Watermen's Museum in Williamsburg. The museum, which features beautiful facilities on the shores of the
York River, includes exhibits on fishing and boats, as well as specific information about early watermen on Chesapeake Bay and the
York River.
The museum itself is a Colonial Revival home that was floated across the river! Exhibits also honor and commemorate the role watermen played in the Revoluntionary War. You'll see historic and modern artifacts on the mechanics of fishing, and the gift shop offers some of the most unique souvenir shopping in Williamsburg.
