During the weekend of Under the Redcoat in Colonial Williamsburg visitors will be able to experience first-hand what life was like under British rule through a variety of reenactments and special exhibits.
From June 25 to July 4, 1781, Williamsburg was forced to live under the law of Britain as martial law was imposed. Throughout the weekend activities including musket drills, artillery batteries, dragoon or cavalry maneuver and more will help to paint the unique atmosphere that Williamsburg suffered through, and to bring a better understanding of our nation as a whole to the masses.
