Celebrate this monumental event which meant freedom for all Americans at the 225th Anniversary celebration at
Yorktown National Battlefield.
On Oct.19, 1781, British troops surrendered to the Continental Army & French allies at the Seige of
Yorktown, effectively ending the Revolutionary War. This four-day event will feature a variety of activities, including Continental & French encampments, musket & artillery demonstrations, civilian programs, medical demonstrations, and, of course, magnificant battle reenactments. The highlight of the weekend will be a reenactment of the surrender ceremony on the final day. Some events will be held at the
Endview Plantation in Newport News.
