With so much to see and do in Williamsburg how can you be sure to see it all?  Check out some of these must-see spots and you won't be missing anything.

THE TRIANGLE OF WILLIAMSBURG:

  • Colonial Williamsburg. This is the "can't-miss" sight of the Williamsburg area. With restored buildings, authentic recreations and living displays of history, it is well worth your time. Williamsburg is one of the original settlements in the Virginia Colony and the most visited historical site in the United States. Once you visit you will see why so many make the trip and why Colonial Williamsburg is one of the most photographed historical sites.
  • Jamestown. One of the original settlements that started life in the United States as we know it. See costumed reenactments and how people lived when the United States was just beginning.
  • Yorktown. This lovely town is the site of one of the defining battles of the Revolutionary War and the site of the surrender of General Cornwallis to General George Washington. This battle was the beginning of the end of the war and a defining moment in the history of the United States. With the opportunity for visitors to see and participate in activities that one would find if they lived in the 17th century.

TOURS & INFO:

PLANTATIONS

  • Berkley Plantation:   Follow costumed guides through here, the site of the first official Thanksgiving. This mansion built in 1726 is decorated in period pieces and its grounds are maintained in that time period. Host to the first ten presidents and birthplace to one of the original signers of the Declaration of Independence and President William Henry Harrison. Berkley Plantation is located just outside of Williamsburg in Charles County along the James River.

With so much to see and do in the area you will want to return again and again!

Colonial Williamsburg
Was enjoyable, only problem was we did not have the list of events for the week until we got there and missed somethings next time I would try and get this list earlier.

Colonial Williamsburg
Not very entertaining or educational. Actors were slacking. It has changed greatly since when I 1st went as a kid. Maybe because it was the Xmas season but alot of things werent open and there was a very skeloton crew of actors on hand. Also I many thought there should have been more showing of slaves and there treatment.
