Riverwalk Landing near Historic Williams, VA
Continental Army Encampment
Visitors explore the re-created Continental Army encampment at the Yorktown Victory Center.
Riverwalk Landing is located along the York River, and features not just shops and dining, but a performance center, two-tier parking terrace, as well as two docks, one for tall ships and another for small watercraft. The area was changed forever by the war. At one time the town flourished as a seaport to welcome visitors from the Europe and the colonies, the war ended all that, but brought the peace of independence. Thankfully, now the waterfront is once again thriving. Be sure to plan your vacation during one of the many extra-special events here at the Riverwalk, where fun is in the air, and you won't even realize you're learning about the history of our country! Throughout the entire year, these events will be on-going, including Civil War Weekend, Shagging on the Riverwalk, and so many more. There are also a myriad of museum located nearby, like the Waterman's Museum, Yorktown Victory Center, and the York County Historical Museum. If you happen to be looking for a special place to have a family reunion or reception, the beautiful Yorktown Freight Shed is available to rent. Panoramic views, lush, colorful landscapes, and life-long memories are no charge! The Freight Shed was built in 1935 after a tropical storm destroyed much of the waterfront. Before being renovated in 1952 for use as a post office, the building was used as a terminal for Baltimore steam ships. Offered is approximately 1950 square feet and a brick plaza, with exhibits of the town's history. Riverwalk Landing is an attraction you won't want to miss during your vacation in Williamsburg. With all its beauty, and rich history, and family fun, it's a vacation event you'll never forget. |

.Least favorite part of the trip was the Yorktown Center it self..
Really enjoyed the Jamestown settlement outdoor exhibits. Again, our time there was limited due to inclement weather.
