Fall comes alive with festivities and foliage in Williamsburg, Virginia. The breathtaking display of colors begin to peak around mid-October, and the vibrant hues continue into November. The cooler weather and historical anniversaries combine to create an atmosphere filled with opportunity to explore the beauty that is Williamsburg. Here are some one-of-a-Williamsburg-kind events you won't want to miss when visiting--and ones you won't be able to find any other time of the year:

  • Scottish Festival (Sept. 22-24) - Scottish clans from all over the United States will join in the fun at this huge event. Special events, shopping, competitions, demonstrations, live entertainment, Scottish cuisine and more await. Shopping includes treasures like apparel, swords, jewelry, celtic music CDs and more, while live entertainment will include dancing, bagpipe music, traditional folk singers and contemporary Celtic rock.
  • Busch Gardens Howl-O-Scream  (Weekends in October) - Offers spook-tacular fun for the whole family!
  • Fall Festival of Folklife (Oct. 7-8) - Over 200 crafters will be on hand selling crafts and demonstrating their trade, while four stages will feature a spectacular lineup of live music and other entertainment.
  • Foods & Feasts of Colonial Virginia (Nov. 23-25) - This three-day event will feature demonstrations and sampling of the foods of the 17th and 18th century.

Busch Gardens - Williamsburg, VA
We had a very good time. Everyone was very kind. The only complaint I have is we could only take a wheelchair on the train. The river cruse would have been nice but after walking down a very steep hill we found a flight of stair. We could not go down to the launce as She can not walk at all. Then we had to go back up that steep hill. However we stayed and watch a show that was absolutly astounding.

The kids loved the rides and we enjoyed two great shows. Wished the shows had been a little longer but they were great. All very professional - very talented kids .
