The Medicine Trail Snowshoe

Along the Medicine Trail Snowshoe you will venture along the historic Medicine Trail that goes deep into the forests in the Callaghan Valley by way of snowshoe. The Callaghan Valley is known for being a wilderness recreation area and is home to several resorts and outdoor activity sites. The medicine trail leads participants deep into an ancient forest. The tour will introduce eastern and western philosophies associated with tree medicine that were practiced in ancient times. Participants will also be introduced into the history of the trail and its surrounding areas. Warming tea made from the forest will be served on the trail.

Trail parties start out at the Moose Caboose snowshoe base camp. Upon returning from the trail, participants will be provided with light snacks and a chance to rejuvenate by a fire.

• It takes approximately 4 hours to complete the trail with two of those hours spent walking and the remainder of the time allotted for transport
• Participants are to dress warmly
• Cameras are allowed, however, trail participants are encouraged to bring a small pack or pouch for easy camera storage
• A normal level of fitness is required from trail goers as it is equal to two hours of walking
