In the past 16 years, Virginia Musical Theater has staged 75 shows and this effort continues in the new venue, with traditional shows from America's theatre past as well as with current Broadway productions.
All shows are now staged in the new Sandler Center for the Performing Arts, located at Commerce and Market streets. This new facility anticipates hosting many well-known entertainers in future years. Virginia Musical Theatre's primary support comes from subscriptions. Theatre subscribers receive a 15 percent discount on tickets, first choice at available reserved seating, as well as entry to various special events.
Weekday season tickets range in price from $100 to $140, while weekend season tickets range from $140 to $180 each. Those under 18 can purchase season tickets for $60. Because of popularity, single tickets for Virginia Musical Theatre shows are not available on a daily basis, though they do become available as individual shows open. Matinees are part of the schedule for Virginia Musical Theatre productions. Matinee performances begin at 10 a.m. Reservations required.
