The Edgar Cayce's Association for Research and Enlightenment Inc.'s Visitor Center offers various facilities and resources that allow you to enter the world of His readings and that of psychic phenomena in general. Set up in 1931, it is the international headquarters of the A.R.E.
If you do not know about Cayce, you can attend a 30-minute movie about his life at 2pm, followed by a 30-minute guided tour of the center. The A.R.E. Library, considered the jewel of the visitors center, houses not only the transcripts of the more than 14,000 Cayce readings that were preserved during his lifetime, but also one of the largest, most respected metaphysical libraries in the world. Whether you are a serious scholar doing research or just stopping in to visit, the library's extensive collection of books on holistic health, psychic experience, psychology, and comparative religions is a must see. The A.R.E. Bookstore offers a wide variety of books and other products for those interested in topics from the Cayce readings. You'll find a wealth of information, materials, and gifts, covering the full-range of topics mentioned in the Edgar Cayce readings. Other activities include a test of your ESP, a visit to the 48' diameter labyrinth, the chance to attend the daily lecture or activities programs on topics from the readings, including dreams, intuition, holistic health, meditation, and reincarnation, a visit our meditation room, with its ocean view, stained glass windows, and peaceful atmosphere or to the meditation garden, with its beautiful landscaping, Japanese bridge, and waterfall.
The center is open the year around, apart from certain national holidays, from Monday to Saturday from 9am to 8pm and on Sunday from noon to 8pm.
