The Horticulture Centre of the Pacific Gardens is made up of lot of different gardens together. If you are staying in or around Victoria in British Columbia then the Horticulture Centre of the Pacific Gardens is located on Quale Street and is well worth a visit.
At the Horticulture Centre of the Pacific Gardens there are extensive gardens for the visitor to see, including a Japanese Garden. There is also a winter garden and some perennial gardens, there is also a library featuring books on gardening.
The centre also runs a number of tutorials and workshops for those who want to learn to garden or who desire to improve their gardening techniques. There are also scheduled demonstrations of different types of gardening for those visitors who are interested. Tutorials and tours take place throughout the year and visitors who wish to take part in them need to register with the gardens and become a member. Membership is not expensive around thirty dollars for an annual subscription.
The Horticulture Centre of the Pacific Gardens also includes the famous year round gardens of Beacon Hill Park, you can wander around the 178 acres and see the natural wildflowers in bloom. The formal landscaping was designed by a man named William Blair in 1889 who included five lakes within his landscaping plan. There is an 1889 medieval bridge over Goodacre lake which allows visitors to look across and see the birds nesting in the original trees and plants which were donated to the park.
