Alert Bay Sea & Music Fest
Alert Bay is a small village located on the Cormorant Island. The village is located in the Kwakwaka'wakw territory and is a favorite cultural heritage sight. Home to many artifacts and relics, not to mention the world's tallest totem pole, Alert Bay is a wonderful place to take the family especially if you want to expose them to the tribe that once inhabited much of British Columbia.
The citizens of Alert Bay understand that visitors are curious about the past and long to see the breathtaking majesty of the island and have developed a tourist's infrastructure complete with demonstrations, activities, and various celebrations.
These festivals are held through out the year and if you are staying in Vancouver, your hotel should have a calendar of events detailing when and where each event will be taking place.
