Veracruz, a destination not yet known to many tourists of Mexico, is a
great city located right on the Gulf of Mexico. The city is independent
of the needs of a heavy tourism trade, unlike other cities throughout
the country. Being a port city, Veracruz makes most of its money
through trade and has done so for decades. The city is known to
followers of the Latin music scene and to those that love the colonial

the largest Latin American aquarium with countless fish and marine life

this aquarium is still very popular. Afterwards a stroll through Plaza
Acuario is in order.
Plaza Acuario is a center full of shops and restaurants. The variety of
shops here is staggering and one can find just about anything and
everything from silverware to unusual souvenirs. There are banks in the
Plaza for easy access. For the children there is a scale model of a
town for them to play in.
Plaza Acuario is a great place to spend an afternoon. The entire plaza
is perfect for the avid shoppers who are guaranteed to find something
to at least covet if not buy.
