Cocinerama in Veracruz, Mexico

The Cocinerama Restaurant located in Veracruz, Mexico is one of the finer Mexican restaurants in the area.  With Veracruz as one of the 31 states of the Mexican Republican, formerly known as Veracruz de Ignacio de la Llave, it is part of the east-central part of the country with a hot and humid climate. If one was touring in the mountain foothills, instead it would be cool and humid.

The Mexican food of the Cocinerama Restaurant is similar to the country's lower location—hot and humid, with a Mexican cuisine that is out of this world.  Located at 1608 Flores Magon Avenue in Veracruz, VZ, the real Mexican food found in this restaurant is not what is available in other countries, instead having a higher rate of standards.

Real Mexican food, like the superb rich and spicy food at the Cocinerama Restaurant, is a world different from those in the United States. The thing to remember is that different regions serve different Mexican cuisines, one of the finest attractions in touring this country. But the basics are "basically" the same with staples like tortillas, frijoles, chilies, guacamole, and salsa. A word or warning when eating salsa for the first time at any new Mexican food diner—the salsa habanero usually should be tried in small amounts, especially if it is a very small jars!

Everyone who travels to Mexico and eats at Mexican restaurants usually end up drinking tequila, served to tourists in the form of a margarita and mixed with lime juice in a salt-rimmed glass. A cruder form of tequila is called Mezcal, and served with a worm in the bottle, usually eaten when the bottom is finished. Another Mexican drink is Cerveza, one of the cold-served Mexican beers served at the Cocinerama Restaurant, with the most common brands being Corona, Dos Equis and sol.

Some of the restaurant's favorites are enchiladas, where tortillas are coated in tomato and chili sauce, filled with chicken or pork, and stuffed with vegetables. It is then folded and baked, having a mild taste topped with sour cream. Quesadillas are another favorite with tourists, a tortillas stuffed with cheese and then folded and grilled.  Typically served with refried beans, a small salad, and is not very spicy. The least spicy foods to start the vacation out on are also plain fish dishes, beans, rice, and both tortas and tostadas if the ingredients are checked out first.
