Castillo de San Juan de Ulúa in Veracruz, VZ is located on a small barren island in Veracruz. The Castillo de San Juan de Ulúa is a famous landmark in this area and considered a great island fortress. It's a symbol of great strength for the entire city. The construction of the fort began in 1528 by the Spanish as a means to protect the coast for attacks by pirates. As much as was put into the design of the fort, their goal was not as successful as they would have liked.
