Located in Vancouver, BC, CA, VanDusen Botanical Garden was named after local lumberman and philanthropist Whitford Julian Van Dusen.
Since August 30, 1975, the garden has been public and managed by the Vancouver Park Board, ran by volunteers.
Within 55 acres of land, the garden includes:
- garden shop
- a book and seed library
- a restaurant
- carved totem poles
- large stone sculptures
- a Korean Pavilion
- a large collection of Rhododendron hybrids
- cultivars of Fagus sylvatica
- collections of Sorbus, Fraxinus and Magnolia
- a Heather garden
- a major collection of Ilex acquifolium cultivars
With displays of plants from all over the world, VanDusen Botanical Garden has been a much visited and popular attraction for horticulturists and garden enthusiasts.
