Stanley Park Mini Railway and Children's Farmyard in Vancouver, BC is the perfect draw for families visiting the area. Stanley Park itself is over 1,000 acres near the downtown area full of evergreen trees and cedar, fir and hemlock. Wildlife roams this huge wooded area and the park is a delight if you enjoy the great outdoors.

The farmyard part of the Stanley Park Mini Railway and Children's Farmyard has several hundred animals comprised of reptiles, birds and farm animals such as goats, sheep and potbelly pigs. The people friendly animals like the farm animals commingle with the visitors that come to see them and you can pet and even feed them. You will find a small pond and stream along with corrals and heated barns on over an acre of land. It's the perfect place for kids to learn more about animals and experience them up close and personal.

During several major holidays each year, the farmyard is host to a number of activities as well. Easter is particularly festive and fun with an Easter egg hunt. There are also several endangered species of cows and waterfowl on the premises and are perfect teaching tools for kids.

The train part of the Stanley Mini Railway and Children's Farmyard near downtown Vancouver is also a big draw. Several hundred thousand passengers each year ride on the miniature train which travels along a picturesque path through the forested areas of Stanley Park. The trail is just about a mile and a quarter and you could ride on one of three sets of cars the park has available or one of the four engines that is a replica of the famous Canadian Pacific Railway #374.
