Nitobe Memorial Garden and UBC Botanical Garden in Vancouver, BC, CA open up a world of unique, beautiful natural garden areas that are a joy to visit. Both of these gardens are located on the University of British Columbia grounds in Vancouver Canada. The Nitobe is an authentic Japanese garden while the UBC Botanical  Garden is host to thousands of different plants of the area — from culinary plants to medicinal to those from other areas of the world.

The area is beautiful in the springtime with cherry blossoms and the maple trees are lovely turning colors in the autumn. The summer brings weather to allow the irises to bloom. The ponds are filled with Koi and there are other elements of the Japanese culture including a teahouse in which tea ceremonies are performed throughout the year.

The UBC Botanical Gardens have been in existence for over ninety years and provides a wealth of research areas for students who choose science as their major in the university. While you will see plants native to the British Columbia area, you will also see other plants from around the world.
