The Canadian Museum of Flight in Vancouver is a hands on museum that provides its visitors a chance to learn firsthand about the heritage of Canadian aviation. Visiting this museum will educate you on the process of restoring, preserving historical aircraft of Canada. The museum started collecting artifacts in the 1970s and in 1977, the Canadian Museum of Flight and Transportation society was able to receive donations which were tax deductible and they were able to get enough artifacts to open the museum. The Canadian Museum of Flight is located at Langley Airport. The museum is open all year and has 25 aircrafts available for viewing. The restorations of these aircrafts are done by people who have dedicated their time full time to the museum. Many have worked in aviation for many years.
The museum is a fun and exciting place for all ages. The Millennium Kids Room has many artifacts for children to touch and feel. Children learn best by experience and these interactive exhibits will help children understand how aircraft engines work and how they fly. Aircraft showcased is from WWI up to the modern aircrafts of today. After touring the museum, you can stop at the gift shop to buy some more educational material to keep children learned about aviation heritage of Canada.
