Whether a visitor or resident of the area of Vancouver you will have to make a trip to the Bunaby Village Museum and Carousel. This attraction is a great place for all ages and will provide you entertainment as well as education about the history of the railway system of this area. You will need a full day to experience this museum. This is a fun and great place to spend a day with the family.
The Burnaby Village Museum and Carousel will take you back to the early 1920s. You will be able to experience what residents of Burnaby Village felt when at the BC Electric Railway tram stop. While at the outside museum you will be able to tour the 10 acre area which has many historic buildings, homes, businesses, and to make you feel like you are a part of the village back in the early 1900s.
When you enter the village, you will be greeted by members of the museum dressed in period clothing. They will provide you with information, instruction and run many of the businesses, shops and workshops. When visiting the historical homes, they will be there to greet you and introduce you to the daily life of the residents.
This trip would not be complete without a ride on the historical Carousel, probably one of the main features of the museum. While at the park, you won't have to worry about getting hungry you will find various eateries where you can find snacks and lunch. There are also picnic tables available if you choose to bring a lunch.
