The Game Creek Restaurant in Vail, CO is a private members-only club that delivers "a daily luncheon experience unsurpassed in the Vail Valley, if not North America." " Memberships are limited to 395 people and have currently been sold out. The Game Creek Restaurant is accepting names for the waiting list.
Members have a choice to dine upstairs in the Mt. Jackson Room or downstairs in the more casual Bistro. There's also a sunny deck that's a favorite with patrons.
Patrons can receive a shuttle escort to the restaurant in the summer and a snowcat escort in the winter. The Game Creek Restaurant is designed in a cozy European-style chalet with a dining room and a bistro.
The main dining area can seat 120 and the bistro can seat 60. The Game Creek Restaurant is open from 6 pm to 8:30 pm for dinner for the public, although lunches are only served to members. Dinner reservations are recommended.
Darrell Jensen, the Executive Chef, has been cooking since he was 16 years old. He completed a formal ACF apprenticeship at the Century Plaza Hotel and Tower, then worked for several years at several top restaurants like the Los Angeles County Club and Michel Richard's Citrus.
Before settling in Vail Valley, he worked for about ten years in Jackson Hole, Wyoming where he opened the restaurant, Snake River Grill. In November 2006 he took charge of the Game Creek Restaurant.
In order to enjoy the luncheon the restaurant serves, the patrons must be members of the club. Membership costs $50,000 to join and annual dues of $1,875. To be put on the waiting lists costs $1,000, which is refunded when membership is received.
