The neighborhood of Cabbagetown in Toronto, Ontario is a fantastic historical site rich with culture.
The area itself is the largest contiguous area of preserved Victorian houses throughout all of North America. The name itself, derives from Irish immigrants, who were, reportedly, so poor that they grew cabbage on their lawns.
The district is filled with many beautiful properties to tour by and enjoy, as well as many boutique stores and restaurants. However, the area is also lower income, with smaller coffeeshops and stores to suit everybody's needs.
