With flights into and out of Canada's busiest airport in the country's largest city, Toronto Pearson International Airport (airport code YYZ) is a convenient gateway to air travel.

Air carriers provide nonstop service to 25 Canadian and 43 United States destinations, as well as 42 other international cities. Wheelchair-accessible shuttle buses transport passengers between the airport's three terminals.

Toronto Pearson International Airport Amenities:

  • Grab a bite in one of the airport's unique cafes or restaurants or browse in one of the many shops, which feature goods with the local flavor of Toronto. There are also many other passenger services, including foreign currency exchange and ATM access.
  • There is a medical clinic providing emergency and walk-in service, and chiropractic treatments and massage therapy are available from the full-time doctor and nurses. Passengers can stay connected by using the public Internet kiosks, and interfaith worship centers are located at each terminal. Other amenities include a hair salon and children's play areas.
  • Vehicle rentals are available at the airport from a variety of major providers, including Avis, Hertz, Budget, National/Alamo and Dollar.
  • There is short-term and long-term parking in the parking facilities at each terminal. A reduced rate lot located farther from the terminals is served by shuttle transportation.
  • Ground transportation options include taxis, shuttle buses and public bus service. The Airport Express Aeroport service provides transportation between the airport and downtown Toronto, where passengers can connect with another service that links to many hotels.
  • There are many other shuttle buses that travel to out-of-town sites.
  • The Toronto Transport Commission runs a bus between the airport and the Kipling Station on the Bloor-Danforth Subway, as well as other routes to and from the airport.
  • Contact information for ground transportation providers, as well as individual airlines, can be found on the airport's Web site. You can also find up-to-the-minute flight arrival and departure information via the Web site.

Lodging options abound near the airport. The Best Western Admiral Hotel and Suites is just minutes away, as is the Best Western Brampton. The Best Western Carlton Place is located just five minutes away and an airport shuttle is available for a small fee. The Best Western Inn on the Hill is also situated nearby. The Best Western Primrose is located in downtown Toronto and offers an airport shuttle, for which charges may apply. The Best Western Toronto Airport West is just a short drive away and offers shuttle transportation for a small fee. The Comfort Hotel Airport North and Delta Toronto Airport West are just 10 minutes from the airport, and shuttles are available at a nominal charge. The Quality Hotel Suites Airport East offers a complimentary airport shuttle. The Quality Suites Toronto Airport is less than a mile from the airport and offers shuttle transportation, for which there is a small fee.

Toronto's airport is situated 16 miles northwest of the city's downtown. Highways 409 and 427 offer direct access, and many other roads head in the direction of the airport. These include Highways 400, 401, 403, 407, 410 and the QEW (Queen Elizabeth Way). On these roads, drivers should look out for an airport sign showing the silhouette of a plane on a green background.
