Taos Country Club is located in Ranchos de Taos and offers an award-winning and challenging golf course. The Club i set in outstanding desert scenery with spectacular views of the Taos Box Canyon and surrounding mountains. The links-style course was designed by Jep Willie in 1994 and tests the skills of experienced golfers. It's a semi-private course over 18 holes and the championship layout features 4 different tee boxes to cater for different levels of skill and experience. The course is par 72 and features challenging bunkers and water hazards over 7,300 yards of fairways. It features rolling terrain and multi-tiered greens, with challenging slopes that have a rating of 124.
The Club has a driving range on grass, and practice chipping and putting greens, and bunkers. The Club has hosted well-known events such as the Sun Country PGA Championship, the New Mexico State Amateur and the New Mexico State Senior Championship. It also hosts an annual charity golf tournament with packages that include local accommodation, high value prizes, a premium tee packet, an auction and clubhouse meals. There is also a barbecue dinner with live music.
The clubhouse has a restaurant and snack bar for a light meal or to enjoy a relaxing drink after your game. There is pro shop that stocks golfing equipment, accessories and clothing. It also organizes cart and club rentals. There is an on-site professional offering golf lessons and clinics. The dress code stipulates no tank tops or cut-offs. The Club is open from March through November.
