Lambert' Bar and restaurant serves fine contemporary American food in a relaxed and intimate setting. It is owned by husband and wife Zeke and Tina Lambert, and is a popular restaurant in Taos. Zeke was previously the chef at the Taos Inn when in 1989 the couple decided to open a restaurant in the historic Randall Home. The restaurateurs put an emphasis on quality and the menu features Asian influenced seafood dishes and daily fish and game specials. The extensive wine list has been selected to compliment the menu.
Appetizers include tempura lobster tail with an Asian slaw and teriyaki sauce, grilled lamb tenderloin with a warm lentil salad, and crab cakes with a Thai curry sauce. The salad selection features grilled radicchio with a blue cheese vinaigrette, and oven-roasted tomato with mozzarella and pine nuts. Entrees include grilled ginger shrimp with soba noodles, pistachio crusted chicken breast with goats cheese and the restaurant's signature dish — pepper-crusted lamb with garlic pasta. Other meat dishes include rib eye steak, glazed roast duck and grilled pork tenderloin. Desserts include Zeke's chocolate mousse with raspberry sauce, bread pudding with rum sauce and the popular warm apple and almond crisp.
The wine list features mainly Californian wines with some other New and Old World choices. The wines are available by the glass or the bottle. Dinner is served Monday through Saturday from 5.30pm. Cocktails are served in the bar, which has its own menu, from 5.00pm. The restaurant holds regular wine dinners featuring specially selected wines throughout the year.
