The area itself is situated amidst southwestern culture; it's the real deal and none of that fake kitschy stuff. When you are in Taos, New Mexico, you can expect as much Indian influence as possible.
This Indian influence is especially true in the Kiva Coffee Shop & Hopi Dining Room. The coffee shop portion resembles a real kiva, only above ground with its spherical walls. You will see an intricately carved totem pole supporting the ceiling which looks like wagon wheel spokes. The Kiva Coffee Shop is open from 7:00 a.m. and closed with an early lunch time of 1:00 p.m. They offer both traditional American fare as well as the cuisine expected of New Mexico.
The Hopi Dining Room is comprised of two large chic dining areas. There is a lovely fireplace which is the center of attention as well as large picture windows for gazing at the scenery outside. There are some tasteful paintings as well as background music which seamlessly segues one dining space to another with ease. The dining room is open for dinner only from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. and offers both New Mexico food stylings as well as traditional American fare.
The Best Western Kachina Lodge offers some great amenities for its guests and you can count on both the Kiva Coffee Shop & Hopi Dining Room as two of these.
