Cafe Tazza in Taos, NM

The Cafe Tazza in Taos, New Mexico served gourmet espressos and delicious desserts. It's located at 122 Kit Carson Road, Suite E. There's free parking for guests. All they have to do is go around the building to the back.

The newest owner, Vanessa Sooy was born in Camden, New Jersey. She moved to Taos from Seattle Washington. In Washington she hosted poetry readings and was a featured performer in 17 venues over four years.

Sooy has two self-illustrated books of essays and poetry published. They're called The Lead Swimsuit and Steady Machete. Sooy is also an internationally published writer and a founding member of many different surrealist and traditional writing groups.

The owner of Cafe Tazza is also a mixed-media visual artist and songwriter. As café manager and entertainment manager of Cafe Tazza, she hopes to meet some of New Mexico's artists, especially those who "live to break with tradition."

Cafe Tazza is the host to several live entertainment events every Friday and Saturday. On these days there are live performances featuring writers and musicians. Call (505) 758-8706 to find out about the upcoming performances since the performance schedule changes quickly.

The first Thursday of every month is the opening for that month's featured artist. This occurs from 6 pm to 9 pm. It's a special event with hors d'oeuvres and coffee served.

The Cafe Tazza serves Western Sky burritos, Taos Cow Ice Cream, Debbe de Taos's divine desserts and Rising Sun muffins.
