Antonio's Taste of Mexico in Taos, New Mexico is a restaurant that recently moved to its new location four miles south of Taos Plaza at 4167 Highway 68 in Ranchos De Taos, New Mexico.
The restaurant serves contemporary and tradition foods from select areas of Old Mexico. The walls are covered with Mexican folkloric wall murals giving it the feeling of a restaurant really located in Old Mexico.
Antonio's Taste of Mexico is a licensed restaurant that serves a variety of wines and domestic and imported beers. Types of foods served include seafood dishes, poultry entrees and steak meals.
The restaurant has four signature dishes. They are the Chile Relleno en Nogada, the Huachinango a la Veracruzana, the Chipolte Chocolate Cake and the Pastel de Tres Leches.
The Chile Relleno en Nogada could be an appetizer or a smaller meal. It's made out of a poblano pepper stuffed with pork, apples, pears, raisins, tomato, onion, epazote, and garlic. It's served with walnut brandy cream sauce and sprinkled with pomegranate.
The Huachinango a la Veracruzana is an entrée made out of red Snapper fillet grilled and served with Veracruz sauce, tomato, onion, jalapenos, spices and green olives. The fish comes with rice, calabacitas and tomato slices.
The Chipolte Chocolate Cake and the Pastel de Tres Leches are both desserts. The Chipolte Chocolate Cake is, as the name implies, a decadent chocolate cake topped with powdered sugar and served with whipped cream. The Pastel de Tres Leches is a three milk cake drenched in a sweet milky syrup, topped with whipped cream, and garnished with fruit.
