The Keel & Curley Winery near Tampa, Florida is located at 5210 W. Thonotosassa Road in Plant City, Florida. The retail store hours are Monday through Saturday from 10 am to 6 pm and Sunday from 11 am to 6 pm.
Joe Keel owns the winery. He also owns the Keel Blueberry Farms. Joe Keel is a Florida native who has been growing blueberries in Florida for the past nine years. He has recently bought 10 more acres of land Lithia, Florida to plant blueberries.
The Keel & Curley Winery and the original Keel Blueberry Farms are located on 25 acres of land.
A farmer by trade, Keel partnered up with Chase Marden to begin developing wines. Marden is a Vermont native with extensive experience developing fruit wines. The business partners developed a line of wines under the Keel and Curley label. Wines come sweet, dry and semi-dry. They are made from handpicked highbush blueberries that are fermented and bottled right on the Keel Farms.
The Keel & Curley Winery makes and carries three types of wines: Fruit Wines, Fruit Fusion Wines and Grape Wines
Fruit Wines are made completely out of Florida-grown blueberries. No grapes are used in this type of wine. Fruit wines have a 12% alcohol volume and come in dry, semi-dry and sweet. The blueberries used to make this wine are bottled young.
Fruit Fusion Wines are made with grapes fused different types of tropical fruits. Alcohol volume of Fruit Fusion Wines is 12% except for the Mango Citrus Fusion. The Mango Citrus Fusion has an alcohol volume of 8%. There are six other Fruit Fusion Wines.
Grape Wines are traditional wines made from California grapes.
