Join the estimated 17,000 visitors at the Ruskin Seafood Festival in Ruskin, Florida, located just 20 miles south of Tampa.
During this festival, more than 20 local vendors will be present to treat party goers to some snacks from the sea. There will be shrimp, cracked conch, grouper sandwiches, clam chowder, alligator, oysters, and much more. Ruskin may be known for their tomatos, but seafood is a specialty of the Tampa Bay area.
Not only will there be many varieties of seafood, there will also be a fine arts competition, an enviromental/non-profit area, a truck and boat show that the kids will just adore, and a children's court for playtime. Visitors can shop other local vendors for jewelry, clothing, hot sauces, massages, and many other unique things. There will be almost non-stop live entertainment that will perform at various times throughout the festival, and even exotic animals. Call ahead for showtimes. The festival begins Saturday at 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. and Sunday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is not free, except to children under 5, but the fee is only a few bucks.
