Fall Children's Show at Florida Museum of Photographic Arts in Tampa, FL

The Florida Museum of Photographic Arts (FMoPA) produces an annual children's show to showcase the works of young photographers. "Eyes of a Child: Fall Showcase" reveals how the visual creativity can inspire a youthful spirit.

Through the showcase, the museum aims to promote their Children's Literacy Through Photography incentive. The literacy initiative gives an opportunity for under-served children and youth in the Tampa Bay area to use the camera for exploration of life, and offers free on-site workshops.

The Literacy Through Photography adheres to the belief that photography can positively impact a child's life, and to the importance of having a creative outlet. The museum provides participants with a digital camera for persona use for the session, and encourages them to find their own distinct point of view of their environment.

Past shows have featured the work of young people living at the Carlton Manor Group Home in St. Petersburg.
