Tampa AirportWhether you're traveling with or without a family, for business or for pleasure, Tampa International Airport has all the perks and conveniences you'll need when you step off your flight or are preparing to take off. The airport, located on 3,200 acres of land about 5 miles west of downtown Tampa, serves more than 15.5 million passengers annually via a wide range of domestic and international air carriers. Airline service providers include Air Canada, America West, American, British Airways, Cayman Airways, Continental, Delta, Frontier, Jet Blue, KLM, Northwest, Song, Southwest, Spirit, United and U.S. Airways. You can check real-time flight arrival and departure information with the click of a mouse on the airport's website. Ground transportation options include rental car service from Avis, Budget, Dollar, Hertz, Enterprise, Thrifty, Alamo, E-Z Rent A Car, Econo Car, National, Payless, Specialty Auto Rentals and U Save Auto Rental of Florida. Courtesy shuttles are available to those outlets. Shared passenger van service is also offered by Bay Shuttle and Super Shuttle. There is also taxi and bus service to the airport. Taxi transportation is provided by Yellow Cab and United Cab. Hillsborough Area Regional Transit runs local bus service to and from the airport and the Sarasota Tampa Express provides nonstop bus service from Tampa International Airport to Sarasota/Brandenton International Airport. The airport's Web site includes contact information for airlines and ground transportation providers. There are also many lodging options nearby that offer easy access to Tampa International Airport. The Airport Marriott Hotel has direct access via the main terminal's third level. A rooftop garden boasts an outstanding view of the airport grounds and offers seating for those who want to get a bit of fresh air. The Holiday Inn Express is a three-star hotel located just minutes from Tampa International Airport. The Holiday Inn Express offers an airport shuttle, for which charges may apply. The Suites at Mainsail Village If you need to get oriented when your flight arrives, visit one of the information kiosks. If you're hungry, visit one of the airport's many restaurants, snack bars, lounges and bars. Visit the Galleria shops on the third level for a variety of browsing options. There's Altitunes, where you can listen to and buy the latest music. Mindworks offers interactive games for kids. Or take a free shuttle to International Plaza, one of Tampa Bay's newest shopping malls. If you're looking for a feast for the eyes, Tampa's public art program has exhibits throughout the airport. Or take a walk around the displays set up by the Tampa Museum of Science and Industry, Lowry Park Zoo and the Florida Aquarium. Take care of financial tasks right at the airport at the on-site bank and cash in foreign currency with money exchange services. There are also postboxes and ATMs available, as well as telephones with dataports. There is even a medical center and 24-hour, nondenominational chapel right at the airport. There is short-term and long-term vehicle parking. The long-term parking features a monorail service between the parking facilities and the airport terminal. Valet parking is also available. To get to Tampa International Airport ff traveling from St. Petersburg and the west, go along Interstate-275 North to exit 39B. If traveling from the north, take Interstate-75 South to Interstate-275 South to exit 39. Traveling from the east, take Interstate-4 to Interstate-275 to exit 39. At exits 39 and 39B, follow the signs to the airport entrance. If traveling on Spruce Street, take any local road to Columbus Drive or Spruce Street and travel west. The airport entrance is located west of Westshore Boulevard. |
