National Old Time Fiddler's Contest in Weiser, Idaho
The National Oldtime Fiddler???s Contest and Festival has been held in Weiser, Idaho since 1953. It has hosted fiddlers and friends from around the world. The festival is dedicated to preserving and perpetuating fiddle music for many generations to come. The annual contest offers many chances to listen or learn from some of the finest fiddlers around the world. The competition has 7 divisions that divide the competitors by age, with the National Grand Champion Division being open to fiddlers of any age. If you are a member of the National Oldtime Fiddlers??? Association you will get a discount on your registration fees. During the contest many fiddlers look for people to accompany them. If you are interested in that, go to the warm up room and see if you can find someone. Many times the winning fiddler will compensate their accompanist if they win money. The festival also has a carnival, parade, battle of the bands, and many vendors.
