Open all seasons, the Rosamond Gifford Zoo in Syracuse, NY is a great place to wander when the weather gets dreary.
Exploring this zoo can be tons of fun- especially the elephant habitat, where the locals indeed do not dine on peanuts, so the park kindly asks for guests not to offer them a nibble.
However, visitors to the Zoo can feed the animals there an assortment of treats and goodies that they would eat in the wild. Children especially seem to delight in petting an alpaca, or an Asian elephant or two.
If Madagascan Hissing Cockroaches tickle your fancy, fear not- the Rosamond Gifford Zoo features more than your everyday mammals. There's also an extensive insect and bird exhibit as well.
Especially thanks to a wide variety of restaurants, restrooms, and other amenities, this site is a great place to spend the day.
