Following the passing of an act meant to clean up the environment, Papermill Island has been transformed from an abandoned mill site to public park with a world-class amphitheatre.
Located atop a hill, Papermill offers visitors a generous view of the surrounding canals and forest areas.
Formerly a strictly industrial area, Papermill Island is now stocked with a spectacular amphitheater, scenic park, and a series of shops for both tourists and locals to visit.
There are also many outdoor activities here, including fishing- the area is well known for its carp population, as one of New York's largest spawning locations is nearby.
Developments are still being made to Papermill Island to include luxurious Inns and other great attractions.
