What makes the
Carousel Center so special is not so much the shopping, but the large carousel made in 1909 by the Philadelphia Toboggan Company. It is a fully restored original carousel that has given hundreds of thousand of rides to both adults and kids alike. The work that went into the refurbishment was quite extraordinary as almost every mechanical part had to be recreated. The horses had to be sanded down to its original wood that is almost 100 years worth of layers upon layers of lacquered paint. When you take a ride for yourself, you will notice the fine craftsmanship and carving that went into each and every horse.
You can also spend your time at the movie theater, a restaurant or one of over 150 shops with large anchor stores as well as smaller local ones. Women's fashions, books, music, kid's clothing stores, accessories and more can be found in various specialty shops. The
