The Andy Dalton Shooting Range has well-maintained practice ranges set in beautiful surroundings for hunters preparing for the season. The facility has a 100-yard baffled rifle and hand gun range. The rifle range has 20 all- weather covered booths that cost $3 per hour and there are bull's eye target and stands are provided at 7,15,25,50,75,and 100 yards. The booths have a shooter's bench and seats provided for spectators. There are 4 trap and skeet ranges and the Range charges $3 for a round of 25 clay birds. There is also a shotgun patterning range with turkey targets plus static and 3-D archery ranges with deer, bear, coyote and raccoon practice targets.
The Range is used throughout the year but is busiest before the deer and dove seasons as hunters get in some pre-season practice. It is also used for general target practice by the police and also groups who can reserve the range for special events.
There is an outdoor education center which as a 50-seat classroom and an outdoor pavilion where the Range runs its own hunter education series of events to improve hunting and shooting skills. These include the pre-season deer rifle insight events in the first two weeks of November. The Center can also be hired out for group meetings and events.
Hearing and eye protection is available. The Range is open year round Monday 9.30am — 4.30pm Thursday 9.00am to 7.30pm and Friday through Sunday non — 4.30pm. The Range is only open for group reservations on Tuesday and Wednesday.
