The Palatki in Sedona, Arizona are located on Brewer Road. This location is one that many people come from around the globe to see, mainly because of the history and beauty that they provide. The Palatki ruins, as they are, are believed to have been occupied and regularly used from 1130 AD to 1280 AD. These ancient ruins are located just to the north and west of Sedona, a popular tourist based city. To get to the ruins, you must use West Highway 89 A and you will need to take the Red Canyon Road North to get to this highway. While it may be a bit difficult to locate at first, the drive out is one that is well worth the work in getting there.
The ruins are the largest and most impressive in Sedona. When you arrive, you will find two trails that will lead you to the alcoves and then to the dual pueblos located here. The admission price is minimal and is used to maintain the location, though at about $5 per person, it is an affordable admission to most. Those that visit will be able to visit the two additional ruins located nearby. These are located in Clarkdale and are called Honanki and Tuzigoot.
When visiting the Palatki Ruins, call ahead to verify that the location is accessible (poor road conditions can close the ruins to the public at any time.) Also, take note that only cash is accepted at the location, no credit cards can be used.
