Old Bear Wallow Jeep Tour

Step back in time and explore an early stagecoach route on this thrilling 4x4 excursion. You'll climb into your jeep and head off along Schnelby Hill Road towards the magnificent Mogollan Rim and Oak Creek Canyon via scenic Old Bear Wallow. Old Bear Wallow was an important trail discovered by an escaped British prisoner in 1777, when he was traveling through the area and found several bears rolling in the mud.

Native Arizona wildlife, including bears, deer and wild turkeys still call the canyon home. You'll enjoy this scenic excursion along a volcanic rim trail, where you'll see incredible formations like Carousel Rock and the world's largest continuous stand of Ponderosa Pines. Make sure you have your camera on hand to capture the image of this lonely yet thriving wilderness.

• Tours depart daily year-round. Tours are available for reservations on the half-hour. The tours run from 8:00 am to sunset.
