The Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, known as Sea-Tac (Airport Code: SEA), is the 16th busiest commercial airport in the United States. Located between the cities of Seattle and Tacoma, it takes about 30 minutes to drive between the airport and downtown Seattle. Catching a city bus (run by Sound Transit) is your best bet for cheap transportation to or from the airport.
Sea-Tac has undergone major expansion and renovation in recent years. Already a major hub for Alaska and United Airlines, Sea-Tac will service even more destinations throughout North America, Europe, and East Asia when a third runway is completed in 2008. But you don't have to wait that long for a quick meal and shopping. The Pacific Marketplace, a retail and dining area, just opened in the Central Terminal of the airport. So grab a latte and make Sea-Tac your gateway to Seattle and the world.
