Seattle Chinese Garden in Seattle, Washing is located on 16th Avenue Southwest. Visitors to Seattle as well as locals find this park to be one that is amazingly serene and enjoyable throughout the year. It is available April through October longer hours, and then only on Saturdays during November through March. The garden is in a traditional Chinese style. It is called Xi Huan Yuan. It is the largest Chinese garden of its kind in all of the United States.
The garden allows for guests to enjoy a large selection of plants, many of which are authentic Chinese plants cared for and maintained using ancient methods. The plants change regularly with the season. There are also several pavilions located throughout the garden. Each was built using traditional Chinese products and materials for the construction. The techniques used to build these pavilions have themselves been passed down over centuries. When guests visit, they are shown many of these techniques first hand by tour guides.
As guests enter the garden, the keepers, who are more than willing to give you a tour of the facility, greet you. Tours are available every day that the location is open. They last about 90 minutes and are free of charge. To get into the garden the easiest, be sure to park at the north entry location. Hours of operation vary based on the season. For large groups, schools or other organizations, be sure to contact the management before arriving. Special tours and private usage are available, through advanced booking.
