This is an area wide attraction that invites both locals as well as tourists to enjoy it. The monorail is the country's first full scale system that runs commercial transportation around the region. Those visiting Seattle are likely to see the monorail as one of the first things within the city because of its dominant presence in the skyline.
The monorail runs from downtown Seattle to the Seattle Center.The Seattle Center is where the Space Needle is located, the Experience Music Project is found as well as the Pacific Science Center. The Seattle Center Monorail is open every day of the week, year round. Shuttles run from 9 in the morning until 11 at night, with holiday hours being different. The monorail leaves every ten minutes from the Seattle Center and then runs its one mile circle route to Westlake Center Mall. The actual trip only takes two minutes from one destination to the next.
