Family owned business have always brewed the finest ales and the Maritime Pacific Brewery is no exception. Founded in 1990, the brewery has focused on producing niche, popular beers for all. Their products include Islander Pale Ale, Flagship Red Ale and Clipper Gold Hefewiezen.
The Brewery has very wisely attached a pub to its premises, called the Jolly Roger Taproom where you can taste the finery of the produce at discount rates. If you are feeling peckish then you can also order a light meal at the Jolly Roger Taproom. The theme of the pub is nautical as the title suggests and it is decorated with humour, showing large hanging skull and cross bone flags and traditional English pub style tables and chairs, even the floor is decorated with a nautical chart.
If you are going to visit any brewery you need a professional tour, and the guides at Maritime Pacific Brewery are hugely knowledgeable but also very friendly at the same time.
Of course if you want to take away some of the ales, you don't have to just buy them in the pub, there is a fully stocked gift shop where you can purchase everything you would expect. There are T-shirts and key rings, you can even take a keg away; if a keg is too much then many of the brews are available in bottles too.
If you really want a knock out day then have a few bottles of the Imperial Pale Ale, which clocks in at 7.5 percent, so avoid that unless you know what you are doing!
