Gas Works Park on North Lake Union in Seattle provides fuel for the imagination with the intricate workings of pipes, cogs, and engines left over from when the park was a gasworks back in 1906.
Right on the shore of Lake Union, picnickers spread out blankets and watch the seaplanes taking off and landing on the lake. The trail is perfect for a little recreational exercise, and the large, windy hill is also a lot of fun for the kids.
Fourth of July, the park is a great place to watch the fireworks display, but it is no secret as every year there is a big crowd.
