The best of the NFC West will face off against the division's worst as the reigning NFC Chamion Seahawks visit the 49ers. The Seahawks look as sharp as ever, returning all 20 starters from last year's squad. As always, this game will be controlled by the tempo of running back Shaun Alexander as he forces the 49ers offense to attempt to follow suite.
The home team will certainly have a long road ahead of them, but the tunnel isn't completely dark. They've signed Trent Dilfer for this season, and although he's starting to show his age he still has the vast amount of football knowledge that has kept him as a starter in the NFL for so long. Things might not be great in San Fran, and this game looks to be a David vs. Goliath story, but the 49ers will hopefully be able to compete at least.
