Waterfront View
You'll enjoy and fully-narrated tour of Seattle's historic waterfront area while viewing some of the Emerald City's most famous sights.

Seattle typically gets a bad reputation for being a very rainy city; this reputation is not well-founded, as San Francisco gets more rain than Seattle does! Featuring a mild, maritime climate, this city on the Puget Sound features lots of history as a former gold rush town, lumber supplier, and shipbuilding capital. Today, Seattle offers plenty of big-city opportunities and sights to see, as well as recreation and outdoor activities ' no matter what time of year!

Summer in Seattle

Summer in Seattle is glorious: with average daily highs in the mid 70s, and overnight lows in the 50s, the air feels great and the sun is nearly always out. August is the warmest month, with a typical average high around 76 degrees. July receives only .79 inches of rain ' the perfect month for outdoor activities! Visitors during summer should bring short-sleeved shirts, as well as some long-sleeved shirts or light sweater for evenings.

Fall in Seattle

Seattle's autumn months are cooler, with highs during September remaining in the 70s. By October and November, daily highs are in the 50s and 60s, with cooler nights, as well. Visitors should pack plenty of long-sleeved tops for layering over short-sleeved tops, as well as a few sweaters and a lightweight jacket. Also during November, the rainy season begins. November receives approximately 5.9 inches of rain (the wettest month of the year), so visitors should also bring along water resistant shoes and an umbrella.

Winter in Seattle

The rainy season continues throughout the winter, but there are plenty of indoor activities for those rainy days, including dining, shopping, galleries and many sites of interest. Daytime highs are in the mid 40s and lower 50s, and overnight lows are in the mid 30s, with January being the coolest month. A winter wardrobe for Seattle includes sweaters, long pants, a coat and an umbrella, as well as water resistant shoes.

Spring in Seattle

As spring arrives, the rains begin to wane, and temperatures climb again. Daytime highs are in the 50s and 60s, so travelers are comfortable in lightweight layers with a jacket on top. Seattle features a lush green landscape and gardens during the spring, making it a beautiful sight for photographers and nature lovers.
