Savannah National Wildlife Refuge in Savannah, GA
This wildlife refuge is indeed a refuge to hundreds of thousands of migratory birds during the winter months. With the amazing number of birds going through the Atlantic Flyway, the Savannah Wildlife Refuge is a wonderful place to view hundreds of species of birds. This facility was established in 1927 and has over 29,000 acres of space. The facility now houses several endangered species that include: the American alligator, bald eagles, and manatees. In addition to being able to view all of these amazing animals there are other recreational opportunities at the Savannah National Wildlife Refuge. You can hike and bike on the miles of available trails. There are also places to fish and hunt.
