Oatland Island is an educational center mixed with a zoo, and it is the premier enviromental educational center in the southeast. This "zoo" features a 2 mile "Native Animal Nature Trail" that winds through habitats like forests, salt marshes, and freshwater wetlands. Visitors will see amazing creatures such as the Florida panther, the Eastern timber wolf, alligators, and many more. Within Oatland Island, are more than 150 indigenous Georgia animals representing 50 different species. There are bison, bears, raptors, neotropical birds, herons, hawks, raccoons, and otters.
