The only Victorian era house open to the public in Savannah, the Hamilton-Turner House is one of the most beautiful homes in Savannah. This historical home has been operating as a bed and breakfast in Savannah for several years. The house was built in 1873 and is of the rare 2nd Empire style. There are several interesting facts that concern the Hamilton-Turner House. It was the first home in Savannah to feature electricity and one of the first with indoor plumbing. It is also part of the ghost legends that run rampant in Savannah. This ghostly home was featured in the book Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil which was set in Savannah. The book was eventually made into a movie directed by Clint Eastwood. Rumors circulate that former owners of the house have returned as ghosts and haunt the home.
