Bonaventure Cemetery in Savannah, Georgia

Although the cemetery was originally an 18th century burial ground on a Savannah, Georgia family plantation, it became the Bonaventure Cemetery when the city purchased the land in 1907.

Also, history buffs will appreciate visiting the portion of the cemetery dedicated to veterans as well as the gravesites of the early radical Patriot in the American Revolution, Noble Wimberly Jones and an active Patriot who later became governor, Edward Telfair.

Not only does the cemetery have a rich history in its development and residents, but it was also featured featured in the 1994 mystery novel Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil and was later featured in a 1997 filmed version of the novel, starring Clint Eastwood.
